Adult Education Class: Together and Apart with Rabbi Feingold
This program is from the Shalom Hartman Insititute in Jerusalem.
Today we face new challenges to our unity including nationalism, antisemitism, dual loyalty, and identity politics. We consider what it means to be a member of the Jewish people, the core values that animate Jewish peoplehood, and the contemporary challenges to Jewish unity. The curriculum examines the forces dividing the Jewish people today and it imagines new conceptual frameworks that can help sustain and grow the story of our people for a new millennium.
The class is based on a sourcebook (hard copy or online available) and videos. Students are asked to watch the video ahead of time. Texts are read and discussed in class. There is no fee for the class, unless you choose to order a hard copy sourcebook.
